The IIEEX volunteer program focuses on skill-building while providing Korean youth with meaningful experiences with nonprofit organizations. A non-profit offers the same structure of traditional internships that companies provide. Based on the type of visa and the nature of the program, we call this program ‘Volunteer Program’.
Within the scope of the Korea WEST Program, funded by the Korean government and administered by the Korean National Institute for International Education (NIIED), we have placed many Korean students into internships in the non-profit sector since 2016. From the United Nations Association San Diego to the prestigious Clear Blue Sea project, supported by the University of California San Diego (UCSD), each year Korea WEST participants enjoy excellent training at some of the best non-profit organizations in the United States. This pool of organizations is now accessible to you as well.
With our long-standing history and cooperation with our American non-profits, we place interns from the ROK with excellent companies that allow them to build their careers, gain experience and skills, and improve their English.
If you’re a talented Korean student eager to learn and are searching for a meaningful experience related to your field of study in the United States, our program offers opportunities to gain practical work experience and promote cross-cultural relations in a wide range of industries, fields, and nonprofit organizations.
Our volunteer program allows Korean volunteers to stay in the United States for up to 6 months. During this period you can volunteer with a host organization of your choice. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and skills while also making an impact within the particular fields that you’re interested in.
